The Australian company Modscape studies how to lift a five-story architectural challenge that seems to levitate over the water on a cliff south of Australia. Prospective owners of this property, Emma and David, wanted to explore options for the design of a holiday home in a secluded spot they have.
The concept looking, seemingly simple, was that housing was merged with the natural environment that surrounds it, according to the Spanish daily El Mundo. Modscape took over the project and found inspiration to shape the idea and desire of their clients: a house attached to a cliff.
Five prefabricated modules, to the rock with steel beams form the exoskeleton of this property. The impression conveyed, according to the creators, is that the property is the same extension of the cliff, creating an "absolute connection to the ocean."
In the top (which is accessed) is the garage, with room for two vehicles. The lobby in the garage the previous height, and hides under the cliff, next to the living room, dining room and kitchen. One floor down is the master bedroom with two beds and a small bathroom. In level two of the building is another bed and a spacious bathroom. And the closest to the water plant is the BBQ area and spa.
From inside the house you can see the Pacific Ocean in each of the floors connected vertically. Modscape considered minimalist style decoration creation ensures "a unique spatial experience of place," which remains "the whole focus of the entire design"
